A Song that inspired Pancham Da

Original Version:
"Sing" - by "Carpenters"

Sing, sing a song
Sing out loud
Sing out strong
Sing of good things, not bad
Sing of happy, not sad

Sing, sing a song
Make it simple
To last your whole life long
Don’t worry that it’s not good enough
For anyone else to hear
Just sing, sing a song

(La la la la la, la la la la la la
La la la la la la...)

(Sing, sing a song
Let the world sing along
Sing of love there could be
Sing for you and for me)

Sing, sing a song
Make it simple
To last your whole life long
Don't worry that it's not good enough
For anyone else to hear
Just sing, sing a song
(Just sing, sing a song)

Just sing, sing a song
(La la la la la, la la la la la la
La la la la la la...
La la la la la, la la la la la la
La la la la la la...
La la la la la, la la la la la la
La la la la la la...
La la la la la, la la la la la la
La la la la la la...
La la la la la, la la la la la la
La la la la la la...
La la la la la...)

RDBurman's Version:
"Phir Wohi Raat Hai" - from movie "Ghar"

phir wahi raat hain
hmm hmm hmm ....
phir wahi raat hain
phir wahi raat hain
khwaabo ki
raat bhar khwaab mein dekha karenge tumhe
phir wahi raat hain
phir wahi raat hain
phir wahi raat hain
khwaabo ki
raat bhar khwaab mein dekha karenge tumhe
phir wahi raat hain

masoom si neend mein jb koi sapna chale
humko bula lena tum palko ke parde tale
yeh raat hain khwaab ki khwaab ki raat hain
phir wahi raat hain

phir wahi raat hain
phir wahi raat hain
khwaabo ki

kaanch ke khwaab hain aankhon mein chubh jayenge
palko mein le na inhe aankho mein rut jayenge
yeh raat hain khwaab ki khwaab ki raat hain
phir wahi raat hain
phir wahi raat hain
phir wahi raat hain
khwaabo ki

raat bhar khwaab mein dekha karenge tumhe
phir wahi raat hain
raat hain, raat hain

Book Review: Call of the Wild by Jack London

I just finished the book "Call of the Wild" by Jack London". I had a recommendation on this book from Amit Da who is ardent reader and book lover.

I really liked the storyline, the characterization and overall presentation in the book. The tale is all about Buck, a 4yrs old shepherd dog, who is kidnapped from a judge's residence and later pass through the hands of multiple owners thereby being forced to face hard cruelty and struggle (for existence and survival) in real life.

The vivid descriptions and expressions used throughout in the book has brought out Buck as more of a lively person than a dog. One will feel very close to Buck's feeling out of all his experiences. Indeed a great work, or a portrait, by Jack London.

I really liked the following lines from the book (Chapter III. The Dominant Primordial Beast):
"There is an ecstasy that marks the summit of life, and beyond which life cannot rise. And such is the paradox of living, this ecstasy comes when one is most alive, and it comes as a complete forgetfulness that one is alive. This ecstasy, this forgetfulness of living, comes to the artist, caught up and out of himself in a sheet of flame; it comes to the soldier, war-mad on a stricken field and refusing quarter."

I won't spoil the fun by telling about the ending in the book. It is a must read for all story lovers.

I have plan to read the counterpart of this book by the same author - "White Fang"
